What is The Clay Way?

The Clay Way is a 2-hour mini retreat to play with new ideas and make connections through playing with clay.

This hands-on ceramics experience invites you to discover the transformative power of clay to help you create a breakthrough in any issue you’re currently focusing on in your life. Allow us, your teachers, and the clay itself to create an playful, flowing pathway of artistic discovery and self-expression.

We’re on a mission to bring the magic of coaching and working with clay together to help you work through your stickiest problems, access your most powerful imagination, and calm your nervous system with play. Heather McQueen is an accomplished ceramic artist, known for ceramic percussion instruments and expertise with the potter’s wheel. A vessel sculptor at heart, her work elevates spaces and gourmet tables, as well as graces stages and drum circles worldwide. She enjoys inspiring others through her work, and enjoys seeing the impact a regular creative practice can bring to a person’s life. With a reputation as an engaging and fun facilitator, she excels at teaching and sharing her creativity. Heather’s claywork has been published (“From Mud to Music”, “500 Raku”) and featured in a nationally televised promo (US Cellular). She is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and maintains an independent ceramic studio in Chicago.
